The Lessons

Private guitar lessons
The private lessons are being conducted at my home in Tel-Aviv once a week at a scheduled hour. The lessons can be divided into two short sessions a week (especially recommended for young students aged 8 to 13 during the first month of technique studies).

Private lessons of Solfége, Harmony and tuning your listening skills
These classes take place throughout the year in a group or individual sessions as conducted at the conservatorium.
The lessons cover theoretical material that is usually missing from standard classes. The subjects studied in the course include: Solfége, harmony and tuning your listening skills, introduction and identification of range, dictations of various tunes, introduction to chords, theoretical and audio mastery and more. The one-hour classes take place once a week.

The main goal of these classes that develop the student’s listening skills is to improve listening abilities and to bring the student ultimately to the situation that he can pick up as many musical elements as possible in as little listening sessions. Development of listening skills contributes to an in-depth understanding of the musical pieces the students play.

One example of extraordinary listening skills can be found in the story of Mozart, the child, who after hearing a performance of a religious piece which was hidden by the Pope managed to transcribe its notes perfectly. The very next day, those notes were taken by Mozart’s father and shown to the Pope, who in response bestowed Mozart an honorary reward instead of punishing him for the “robbery” of the forbidden notes.
